I used to have that Homer clock in my office. I loved it, but it was loud as hell. There’s something depressing about a really loud clock ticking, or maybe it's just because I'm getting old.

Excessively noisy clocks are on a different level when it comes to irritating... like they actually cause time to move more slowly.

No, this is an opposite clock.

At the office where I work there was a clock hanging on the wall of the break room. One day I noticed that it was way off, so I replaced the two AA batteries in it, reset the time, and hung it back up on the wall. But the next day it was off again, so I figured that it was worn out and needed to be replaced. I got on the internet and ordered a backwards-hands clock like pictured.

A couple of days later it arrived and I replaced the defective one in the break room with it without telling anybody. For the next two or three days various people happened to notice it with varying degrees of surprise and alarm. Finally somebody came up to my desk and said

Say! Did you notice the clock in the break room?

Yeah sure, what about it?

It’s backwards!

Really? You don’t say!

Did you do that? I bet it was you who did that, wasn’t it. You’re the only person here who’s weird enough to have done that.
